37 Coaches Banned from CS2 eSports

It has been public information for a few weeks now that some team coaches in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) have had access to an exploit which allowed them coaches to view a random spot on the map giving them a 360-degree viewing angle of that position. This allowed them to tell their team where the enemy players are or how many have passed a certain area.

Example of exploit used by CS2 coaches in the eSports scene

Many people who watch the competitive CS2 scene have been wondering if this has effected all of the Major tournaments around the world. Luckily for a lot of us, this exploit could only be used on online games. Meaning that major tournaments which use a LAN connection to the server were not able to be affected.

The investigation was concluded by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) that 37 coaches abused this bug to exploit the game and give their team an unfair advantage. You can view their finding on their website. Some coaches are disputing it as they state that the glitch could happen at random and if they muted their microphone or left the game and reconnected after it happened they should not be punished.

WarOwl a popular YouTube creator that focused on Counter-Strike 2 content has recently made a video showcasing some of the footage of this exploit that coaches were using.
