The AWP | Doodle Lore and Why It Was Replaced
Initially released in the Revolution Case on the 9th of February 2023 AWP | Doodle Lore was a very popular skin in the game Counter-Strike 2. However, on the 15th of February 2023 this skin was replaced with the AWP | Duality. In this article, I will go over the background of the Doodle Lore and why it was replaced.
It was discovered that the Doodle Lore had extreme similarities to a work done by Viktor Mozharov. Focus points are include the de-attached horns, dragon cheek hairs, and flowers covering the scales.
The AWP | Doodle Lore Timeline:
- 12th of February 2023 – Artist vexx.eth (Viktor Mozharov) tweeted that their artwork had been used without permission to create the AWP | Doodle Lore skin.
- 15th of February 2023 – Valve released an update that removed the AWP | Doodle Lore from the game and replaced it with the AWP | Duality.
Valve has previously removed artwork after the M4A4 | Howl had its main image stolen from someone else. Unlike the Doodle Lore, the price of the howl continued to increase and can still be purchased on the marketplace. These skins end up having their rarity changed to contraband.
